Middle East & the Gospel

There is a mass movement of the gospel among the peoples of the Middle East. Thousands of people are hearing the gospel and obeying, and their lives are being transformed. Traumatized women have hope and value; vulnerable youth find the family of God, and dreams, visions, and miracles are the norm as Jesus passionately pursues his children across the Middle East. Here is a snapshot of what is happening in Nadim’s ministry in a few of the places across the region.

Egypt

Disability is considered deeply shameful in Egyption culture, with families often hiding family members with disabilities. But, that is all changing because of the gospel. Now 16,000+ people with disabilities and their families have hope and community, gathering to hear the gospel, worship, and fellowship.

Gaza

Just before the attacks in October 2023, a team had just moved to the city to begin making disciples there but were separated when the borders shut. After many weeks, they were finally able to reunite. Now they provide hygiene and food packages to those waiting at the Rafah gate in Egypt because they can’t get back into Gaza.

Iraq

Even after escaping life as an Isis bride, women are cut off from society by shame. Teams working with these women provide intense psychological trauma care and the hope of the gospel. Their lives are being made new by the dignity of the family of God.

Story of Life Change

Finding Jesus after Trauma.

In the heart of Beirut, Nadia is a 21-year-old devoted Lebanese Muslim, wife, and mother of two. She continuously endured years of abuse from her husband and his family. But when she reached a dead end, she escaped to a safe house leaving everything behind. One thing she knew, any place was safer than the place she was in.

As she was introduced to Nadim’s ministry, she was skeptical but desperate for healing. She joined their trauma awareness sessions, where her defensive exterior gradually softened. Through art therapy and compassionate support, Nadia found comfort alongside fellow survivors.

During a session retelling the parable of “The Prodigal Son”, Nadia tearfully expressed her desire to find comfort in Jesus, recognizing His unconditional love saying, “I want to be like the younger brother and come home to Jesus because I know He is the One who truly loves me.” In that moment, her journey of healing reached a turning point, revealing the deep impact of faith and compassion in overcoming hardships.

Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is a commonly used disciple-making tool in Nadim’s ministry. It’s a great way to share the good news of Jesus and form new disciples in an interactive, Holy Spirit-led format. In a DBS group, spiritually-interested people read a Bible story together, discover what it says, and then are challenged to immediately live out what they learned and share it with someone else. We invite you to check out this resource to lead a DBS on the parable of the Prodigal Son.
